January saw a significant shift in the Denver housing market often seen post Holiday season. Inventory is down, days on market are up, and total number of homes sold are down as well. This usually can be directly attributed to sellers not wanting to have their homes listed over the holidays.
I would consider these stats to be a bit of an outlier and not a great indication of the current market. The previous trends leading up to the holidays which all indicated a drastic shift from a rampant sellers market towards a buyers market seems to be holding true based on the homes we’ve shown and the buyers we are currently working with.
We recently went into much more detail in that regard on our blog post – THREE REASONS WHY NOW IS A GREAT TIME TO BE A HOME BUYER IN DENVER.
